Job Summary

The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in kitchen and service areas, ensuring compliance with the hotel’s quality and hygiene standards. They support the kitchen and food & beverage team in daily operations.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Wash and sanitize utensils, dishes, cutlery, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
  • Keep work areas clean, including floors, walls, tables, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure that trash containers are cleaned and emptied regularly.
  • Properly operate dishwashing machines, sinks, and cleaning equipment.
  • Immediately report any damage or malfunctioning of equipment to the supervisor.
  • Comply with safety and health standards set by the company and local authorities.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately when needed.
  • Follow safety policies for handling chemicals and disinfectants.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team in organizing and storing supplies.
  • Assist in setting up events or special services, ensuring the availability of clean equipment.
  • Help receive and store kitchen supplies.
  • Perform all instructions and tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor, as well as any additional responsibilities required by the position.

 

Minimum requirements of the position:

  • High School diploma.
  • Flexible schedule (available to work overtime, day and night shifts, holidays, and weekends).
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or bend. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
