Job Summary

The Loss Prevention Agent is responsible for preventing, observing, and reporting all incidents, breakages, accidents, medical situations, criminal activities, and/or any loss that occurs on the premises. They will ensure that all regulations are being followed. They will respond to all emergency situations and assist the director, supervisor, or manager in charge with any matters involving internal or external visitors and guests. The Security Officer will be responsible for supporting the fulfillment of any needs our clients may have, as long as these actions are in accordance with company regulations and policies.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist all departments with any issues that arise, without limitation to functions, as long as they are legal matters.
  • Inspect all areas to ensure a safe environment for both internal and external clients, ensuring all hotel operations are running smoothly.
  • Report all emergency situations immediately.
  • Stay in position until properly relieved.
  • Complete written reports of incidents, losses, medical reports, guest complaints, and others that require written documentation.
  • Complete a daily activity report that is accurate and detailed.
  • Receive and log all lost and found items and store them according to hotel standards.
  • Empowered to make decisions in the best interest of the hotel.
  • Assist management with other matters and projects as requested.
  • Assist all guests with opportunities and resolutions in the best interest of both the guest and the hotel.
  • Ensure all points of sale are operating according to hotel standards and prevent any kind of loss.
  • Be well-informed of all hotel safety operational procedures.
  • Safeguard any work equipment assigned to them.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Keep their work area clean and organized.
  • Responsible for issuing reports as instructed by their immediate supervisor.
  • Execute any other instructions or tasks assigned by their immediate supervisor, as well as additional responsibilities as required by the role.

 

Minimum requirements of the position:

  • High school diploma and/or related studies preferred.
  • Valid Puerto Rico driver’s license.
  • 1 year of experience in hospitality or a related field.
  • Flexible schedule (available to work overtime, day and night shifts, holidays, and weekends).
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or bend. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
