Job Summary

The Steward Team Lead is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring the compliance of cleaning and maintenance operations for kitchen utensils and equipment. This role works to maintain cleanliness and order in food preparation areas, ensuring that all safety, hygiene, and quality standards are met at all times.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise the steward team, assigning daily tasks and areas of responsibility.
    • Train and guide stewards on cleaning techniques, equipment handling, and compliance with hygiene standards.
    • Evaluate the team’s performance and provide feedback to improve productivity and efficiency.
    • Collaborate with the Food and Beverage department and kitchen to anticipate and meet their cleaning and support needs.
    • Maintain constant communication with the area manager regarding team status, personnel needs, and any incidents.
    • Regularly inspect work areas to ensure cleaning and disinfection procedures are being followed.
    • Report any failures in cleaning equipment and coordinate its maintenance or replacement as necessary.
    • Participate in various meetings related to the position.
    • Execute all tasks and duties assigned by the immediate supervisor, as well as additional responsibilities required by the position.

 

Minimum requirements of the position:

  • High school diploma and/or university studies.
  • Full proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in stewarding and/or food and beverage.
  • Flexible schedule (available to work overtime, day and night shifts, holidays, and weekends).
  • Customer service-oriented.
