Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating and supervising the cleaning and maintenance tasks in public areas, offices, and back-of-house spaces of the hotel, ensuring compliance with established cleanliness and quality standards. The supervisor must ensure that team members are properly trained and equipped with the necessary tools and materials to perform their duties efficiently and safely.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform opening and closing procedures during scheduled shifts according to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings with staff at the beginning of each shift, including training sessions as needed.
  • Record requests, assign tasks to appropriate personnel, and follow up to ensure task completion using HotSOS.
  • Enforce and ensure compliance with all hotel key control procedures.
  • Inspect storage areas, ensure housekeeping carts are well organized, and verify the availability of cleaning products and guest amenities.
  • Conduct daily inspections of offices, public areas, and back-of-house areas. Record results and review inspection forms with staff.
  • Evaluate staff performance to ensure compliance with safety codes and operational standards.
  • Immediately report any necessary repairs in offices and public areas via HotSOS.
  • Conduct monthly evaluations of employees requiring retraining and follow up on monthly action plans with daily/weekly check-ins.
  • Perform regular inventory of department supplies and prepare timely requisitions to ensure proper stock levels.
  • Maintain inventory in optimal condition.
  • Monitor departmental expenses and minimize waste in all areas.
  • Enforce lost and found procedures. Report and deliver all lost and found items properly.
  • Assist in deep cleaning projects and operate floor and carpet care equipment as needed.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Comply with all relevant risk assessments for tasks performed.
  • Follow OSHA regulations regarding chemical usage and safety procedures.
  • Maintain full knowledge of both automated and manual systems in use.
  • Respect and protect confidential information related to guests, staff, and hotel operations.
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge guests even when busy.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, and report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions to the Director and/or Manager.
  • Communicate with others using clear, professional language and proper etiquette when using phones or radios.
  • Maintain positive relationships with guests.
  • Execute any additional tasks or responsibilities assigned by immediate supervisors.

 

Minimum requirements of the position:

  • University degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Flexible schedule (available to work overtime, daytime and nighttime shifts, holidays, and weekends).
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or bend. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
